Cardboard Necklace

Age: 6-8
Location: Indoor
Set-up: Planned

Materials:

  • 6 toilet paper rolls or more
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Optional: String

Set-up:

Cut the toilet paper rolls horizontally creating 3 "rings" or more from each roll. Take half of the total "rings" you cut and cut them in half. If you have extra toilet paper rolls, cut the in half and the cut a slit down the middle to create bracelets.

Play:

Have your child put together a necklace by putting one toilet roll piece that is cut down the middle through a closed cardboard piece and taping the ends of the first cardboard piece. If the sequence of cardboard rings is not long enough to make a necklace, cut one piece of string to finish off the necklace. Tie one end of the string to one end of the necklace and the other end to the opposite side of the necklace.
