Guess Cards

Age: 3-5, 6-8
Location: All
Setup: Planned

  • Pen or pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paper or thin card board

From a piece of paper or thin cardboard (a cereal box works really well) cut equal pieces the size of playing cards. Alternate between drawing something and just adding individual lines for the letters of a word. For example, you can draw a happy face and above five lines for someone else to write the word "happy" or you can draw five lines for the word "happy" and have someone else draw a happy face to represent the word.

You can take these playing cards to a restaurant or while traveling and have your child guess the words or draw a representation for them.
